Eamon High follows family tradition at Killarney
Change of tactics reaps dividends for Voix Du Reve
He is a decent horse and has been dropped out his whole life but maybe we've been riding him wrong. He nearly won the Fred Winter (in 2016) but fell at the last when Ruby dropped him out and it seemed to work, but maybe we've been riding him wrong since. He has grown and seems well able to stay. He has a high knee action but goes on that and probably goes on any ground.
Blackmore in for winning spare ride on Benkei
He travelled and jumped well and he had the form on his Punchestown run and that run was good enough to win this. He could go on the flat now but we'll keep going wherever we can find a race for him. If I had a few more owners like Jerry (Nolan), it'd be very easy. He has been lucky and has two nice horses (also Lord Erskine) with me.
O'Sullivan family on the mark with Citizen Al
we're not shocked but are surprised as the ground dried up so much. She ran very well when staying on at Limerick the last day but today we thought she'd be caught for toe because of the ground. That's the last horse my late father E.J. bred, it's the first horse owned by my brother William and his son Alan, who the horse is named after, led her up, so it's a pure family story. We didn't plan further than today but we'll probably race her away and keep her for breeding.
'Speedy fellow' Ballyoisin cuts a dash in Killarney
He is an improving horse and ground is the key and it came at the right time. He got a lovely ride from Barry and jumps like a stag out of that ground. He has a very high cruising speed and is rated up there now so we have to go for these type of races with him. Barry, Frank (Berry) and JP will discuss plans now but he might be vulnerable coming up that Galway hill for the Galway Plate so we'll see. He's a speedy fellow and we'll follow the prize money with him.
Blackmore completes double in Killarney National
that trip and ground is exactly what he wants and he'll run in all those Nationals. He likes to go left-handed in particular and he stays really well. She gave him a peach of a ride and Danny (Mullins) had to get off him to ride Willie's (Augustin, unplaced) so he won't be best pleased!. He is a Kerry National type of horse and that will be his ultimate goal. He was 6lbs wrong today so hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him today. Hopefully this could be his year.
Minella For Value dominant in Killarney
That was brilliant and he has been a terrific servant. He was sick in Cheltenham and it is nice for him to come back and show what he is made of. He's not showing his age yet so roll on another year! He'll run in Listowel in June and we'll then drive on again after a summer's break. He hasn't much mileage so we'll keep going.
O'Sullivan doubles up on newcomer Raya Time
He is a good horse and his work was very good. He was ready to run in the autumn and in fairness to Nicky (Teehan, owner) he gave him plenty time and was very easy to deal with and did what was right by the horse and he got a lot stronger over the winter. He'll be sold now. I don't know if he was as good last year's winner (Summerville Boy) but he has done everything we've asked him at home. Summerville Boy was always a very good horse and they're hard to come by those horses but this horse is a good horse. He always showed us plenty of pace.
