Permission was given for Precision Storm (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and Diderot (GB) to be led to post early.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Dembe (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jamie Spencer; Precision Storm (GB), unplaced, ridden by Billy Loughnane and Queen Of Ipanema (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Buick.
The interference was found to be accidental as Precision Storm (GB) had been carried slightly left-handed when attempting an ambitious run between Dembe (GB) and Queen Of Ipanema (IRE), resulting in Precision Storm (GB) becoming short of room for a number of strides passing the final furlong marker and Buick having to take a slight check when short of room on Queen Of Ipanema (IRE).
It was further found that a tiring Dembe (GB) had shifted slightly left- handed which had compounded the interference to Precision Storm (GB).
David Probert, the rider of Obsidian Knight (IRE), unplaced, was also present in the enquiry, but having heard the evidence of the other riders it was found he was not involved in the interference.
Following the race, Benoit de la Sayette reported that Million Thanks (IRE), unplaced, hung left- handed; Rossa Ryan reported that Qaasid (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed on the bend; Ryan Moore reported that Civil Law (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed on the run to the line and Rob Hornby reported that Farasi Lane (IRE), placed sixth, was denied a clear run on the run to the line.
