The Stewards received a report from Mr. P. L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr J. A. Lord, rider of The Reenroe Beach , had presented to weigh out at 2 lbs overweight, none of which had been declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case and apologised. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the overweight on this occasion. They were however, satisfied that Mr. J. A. Lord was in breach of Rule 198 (vii)(a), and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards fined Mr. J. A. Lord €150 on this occasion
The Stewards interviewed Mr A.P. Ryan, rider of Next Week, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. A. P. Ryan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion
