The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. C. Mullins, rider of Rubies Or Gold, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr. C. Mullins accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied Mr. C. Mullins was in breach of R.10.3(i)(time to respond) and R10.3(h)(arm above shoulder height). Having taken his previous record into account (third offence), they suspended him for eight racedays. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards ordered him to attend RACE for one day tuition on correct use of the whip

Rules or Rules of Racing Weights - 4-y-o 11st 8lbs 5-y-o and up 12st Mares allowed 7lbs Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (up to and including 13th May may also ride in this race.
