The Stewards requested a report from J.P. Murtagh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Parkers Hill, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ms. Valerie Keatley, authorised representative for J. P
Murtagh stated that the change in head gear and being ridden more prominently had helped to bring about the improvement in form when compared to its previous run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given
Sabrina J. Harty, trainer of Have A Nice Day (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge made a respiratory noise in the home straight
D.E. Sheehy, rider of Fashaar (GB) trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was awkward out of the gates
T.P. Madden, rider of Eastern Racer trained by Sean Byrne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. L. Malone, that S.B. Kelly, rider of Parkers Hill, was not able to weigh out at the designated weight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards found S. B. Kelly in breach of Rule 195 and 198 (vii). Having considered S. B. Kelly's record in this regard the stewards fined S. B. Kelly €150 on this occasion.
