Permission was given for Beylerbeyi (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Sugar Hill Babe (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Leaving the stalls, Tellus (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly right-handed hampering Captain Cuddles (IRE), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the home turn, involving Tellus (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart and Captain Cuddles (IRE), placed second, ridden by Thore Hammer Hansen.
Laura Pearson, the rider of Flag Flying (GB), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
The interference was found to be accidental as Tellus (GB) which had been intractable for much of the race had shifted left-handed away from Flag Flying (GB), resulting in the rider of Captain Cuddles (IRE) having to steady when short for room on the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong, involving Afterlife (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Josephine Gordon and Beylerbeyi (GB), unplaced, ridden by Liam Keniry.
Gordon was suspended for 6 days for improper riding as she had manoeuvred Afterlife (GB) right-handed across the heels of KING’S CROWN (IRE), unplaced, when insufficiently clear of Beylerbeyi (GB), which was upsides to her outside when she ought reasonably to have known that interference would occur.
As a result of her actions, Beylerbeyi (GB) was firstly moved off its intended line before then receiving a significant bump.
Following the race, Jason Hart reported that Tellus (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
The Veterinary Officer reported that River Usk (IRE), unplaced, lost its right-hind shoe.
