Leaving the stalls, Sandy Paradise (IRE), unplaced, jumped-right handed causing Leadman (GB), placed fourth, and the winner, Darkness (FR), to make contact and become unbalanced as a result, at the same time as Back See Daa (GB), placed sixth, jumped left-handed causing both Hat Toss (IRE), placed second, and Lowton (GB), unplaced, to become severely unbalanced and short for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any runner.
Following the race, Callum Shepherd reported that Lowton (GB), unplaced, suffered interference leaving the stalls and Callum Hutchinson reported that Leadman (GB), placed fourth, jumped sharply right-handed leaving the stalls.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Koy Koy (GB), placed fifth, bled from the nose.
