He had a lovely run in Gowran Park, he just got a bit stuck in the ground that day. On the better surface today, I thought he would come on. That sort of run sharpened him up too. He just found the surface too slow that day. On that surface he was grand and very straightforward. He got the trip well and you'd have to be happy with him. I'm delighted to get a winner for Paul Rooney, we have had a quietish time for him there and he is a great supporter of ours. I'll get him home and see what he is like. The I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer examined Asfastaslightening, trained by Jack W. Davison, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards requested a report from M. Halford, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Slieve Binnian, placed first, as compared with its recent form. He stated that he felt he ran well on ground softer than ideal on his previous run and switching to tonights surface brought about the apparent improvement in form
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report.
An extended handicap for two years old only rated 47-65 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
