Catherine Of Siena gains winning bracket at Dundalk
We thought a lot of her early on and she had a good run the first day in the Curragh. She then ran terrible in Naas but was very distressed after. She has never been out of the money since behind some good horses. I was surprised she was beaten the last day but Joseph’s (Queen Maedbh) may be okay. We thought she would win a maiden but we didn’t think it would take this long. She handles any surface and hopefully she will be sold as I own a part of her.
Hodd's Girl continues to prosper on the polytrack
He gave her a great ride, he was really patient on her and took his time. She was drawn badly and I just said 'slot in and take your time' and that's exactly what he did. They went good and quick and it played into her strengths, but she picked up and got to them. She is improving - how much more she is going to improve I don't know, we will just keep going until Garry (O'Gorman, handicapper) gets her!
Slieve Binnian justifies strong support in the Nursery
Time will tell how good they were, it looked a very weak race on paper. He had a lovely run in Gowran Park, he just got a bit stuck in the ground that day. On the better surface today, I thought he would come on. That sort of run sharpened him up too. He just found the surface too slow that day. On that surface he was grand and very straightforward. He got the trip well and you'd have to be happy with him. I'm delighted to get a winner for Paul Rooney, we have had a quietish time for him there and he is a great supporter of ours. I'll get him home and see what he is like. We always felt he would make a better three-year-old. Ronan said he had matured a lot now. We'll see what the next few weeks brings.
She's In The Game comes up trumps again for Bennett
Ceallach brings up a double for connections
His last run was really solid and Shane (Foley) just felt on the night he just got stopped at a vital time and he thought it might have made the difference. On form, a reproduction of that run was going to leave him hard to beat tonight and that is the way it worked out. I don't think he necessarily improved since that run, but he has come back and repeated it. He loves to travel and you've to keep filling him with confidence. He's still a bit immature, but that's the way he likes to be ridden. Ronan is riding fantastically and he is giving those horses great rides. We probably have about a dozen (for the winter series) but, some of them as they run, we will be stopping with them. We have plenty at the moment, but they will dwindle out as they run. He'll keep going for another while.
Eastern Tornado finally breaks his maiden in exciting finish
El C Wells gives Gray a long overdue first winner
I just decided to get back into it. We have a couple pre-training, a couple of mares in foal and El C Wells. We needed something for the yard, we are going around with long pockets! We did fancy her tonight. She has a lot of kinks and she might not come out of the stable if she doesn't want to. She might not come into the parade ring or walk around it. I haven't been doing too much (since 2017) and just thought I would take it out again. I'm in Rathmolyan in Meath. That's my first winner and I had the licence from 2003 or 2004 and it is great to do it. You are never too late, are you?
