Permission was given for Montaly (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the line when Who Dares Wins (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand interfered with Whiskey Sour (IRE), placed third, ridden by Andrea Atzeni.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Who Dares Wins (IRE) as both horses had drifted left independently inside the final furlong, before approaching the winning post when Who Dares Wins (IRE) hung left carrying Whiskey Sour (IRE) off its intended line and bearing in mind the minimal nature of the interference, and the widening neck margin, the placings remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Who Dares Wins (IRE) hung left despite the rider taking reasonable steps to prevent the interference.
Just inside the 3-furlong marker, Cleonte (IRE), placed sixth, hung left away from the heels of Who Dares Wins (IRE), placed second, causing a weakening Cliffs Of Dooneen (IRE), unplaced, to be checked against the rail but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Paul Hanagan reported that Shabeeb (USA), which was pulled up, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
