The owner, Jimmy Kernohan (from Co Antrim) has had horses for years and I'm delighted that it looks like he could have a good one. He's one of the nicest owners you could have. He was very green and we may give him another run or two in bumpers and then leave him off until next year. He's a gangly type but has a great turn of foot. The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Blow By Blow, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed second and Tamlough Boy (GB), ridden by Ms N. Carberry, winner, where it appeared Tamlough Boy (GB) suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion Mr P.W. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record into account, they cautioned him. Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion Mr. P.W. Mullins was in breach of Regulation 10 (4) in that he had used his whip without giving his mount time to respond, and having taken his record in this regard into account, they cautioned him also.
