Punchestown preview
The long-absent Pont Alexandre makes his eagerly awaited return and debut over fences in the Buy Your Go Racing In Kildare Badge Beginners Chase at Punchestown today. Sun 06th Dec
He got a soft lead and fair play to the horse, he was a Grade One winner. He looked well handicapped, but I thought the ground was too soft for him. What a week - to have eight winners. I can't believe it. We can enjoy it now.
Gordon Elliott
The horse ran for Rachael and she is the first one to get a tune out of him this year, so it's great,. He's a big horse and is a Grade 1 winner so has plenty of ability. That's Rachael's first winner for me and she's in one morning a week for the past couple of weeks and the horses run for her so we're lucky to have the likes of herself, Lisa (O'Neill), Nina (Carberry) and Katie (Walsh) as they are a great bunch of girls in Ireland. He might go to Cheltenham for something next - he's in the Martin Pipe, Albert Bartlett and all those races.
Gordon Elliott
That’s his trip and he’s going to be a chaser for next year. We’ll try and find a three-mile winners’ of one for him somewhere.
Gordon Elliott
He's a fine big horse, a real chasing type. I suppose he'll go hurdling next year, Eddie (O'Leary) said three mile hurdling, but he's every inch a chaser - a real staying chaser. I'd say he'd want a good dig in the ground just by his size but he is by Robin Des Champs and they go on better.
W P Mullins
He's improved nicely from his first run, and had been working well at home. He'll go for a winners bumper, probably on this side of the Irish Sea,. He's a big chasing individual, and fences are what he wants.
W P Mullins
