Permission was given for More Than Likely (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post; for Second Collection (GB) to go early and be led to post; for Viewfromthestars (IRE) and Vaunted (GB) to both go early to post; and for Sir Bolton (IRE) and We're Reunited (IRE) to both wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 1 furlong from the line, involving Sir Bolton (IRE), placed third, ridden by Sorcha Woods; Diamond Cottage (GB), placed fourth, ridden by William Carson; and Vaunted (GB), unplaced, ridden by Finley Marsh.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Woods was accompanied in the enquiry by the Trainer.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Sir Bolton (IRE)’s placing as Sir Bolton (IRE) shifted left-handed, causing Carson, who was travelling strongly at the time, to take a significant check, losing both momentum and ground, before rallying and running on to be beaten by a diminishing neck at the line.
They therefore revised the placings as follows: First - Sisters In The Sky (GB); Second - Second Collection (GB); Third - Diamond Cottage (GB); and Fourth - Sir Bolton (IRE).
Woods was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to shift left-handed without timely correction, causing Carson to take a significant check and Marsh, who was racing on Carson’s inside, a check.
