The Stewards enquired into an incident after the turn into the straight involving Fit For The Job, ridden by F.M. Berry, unplaced , Wonder Holy, ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed fourth and Laganore, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed fifth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion Gary Paul Halpin was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days. W.M. Lordan, rider of Current State trained by T. Stack, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered in the straight. C.R. King, rider of Emperor Bob trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in running. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that W.J.Lee was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record,suspended him for two race days.
An extended handicap for three yrs old only (95 = 9st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won.
