Permission was given for Fangorn (GB) to go early to post and wear a red hood, for Shin Saw Gyi (GB) to go early to post, wear a red hood and be mounted in the chute, and for Debbie's Choice (IRE) to go early to post, wear a red hood and be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately five furlongs out involving Fangorn (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Charlie Bennett, and Shin Saw Gyi (GB), placed third, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
The interference was found to be accidental as Shin Saw Gyi (GB) had edged marginally right-handed in a tightly packed field, resulting in the free running Fangorn (GB) hitting the rails.
George Rooke, the rider of Debbie's Choice (IRE), placed fifth, was also interviewed but found not to be involved in the interference.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving TELL EM’NOWT, placed second, ridden by Frederick Larson, Fangorn (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Charlie Bennett, and DEBBIE’S CHOICE (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by George Rooke.
Rooke was suspended for two days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift right-handed without correction, taking Tell'em Nowt (GB) off its intended line which resulted in Fangorn (GB) being left short of room against the rail.
Following the race, Charlie Bennett reported that Fangorn (GB), placed sixth, ran too free.
