Permission was given for Spring Glow (GB) to wear a red hood in the parade ring only.
Rounding the first bend, a free running Golden Hind (GB), placed fifth, shifted right-handed when being steadied off the heels of Nikolayeva (GB), placed sixth, causing the winner, Spring Glow (GB), to be hampered, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Golden Hind (GB).
Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that Steel An Icon (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed on the home bend.
