Oso Rapido was withdrawn by the Stewards at 5:34pm having unseated the rider in the chute and galloping loose to post.
The Starter reported that Oisin Orr, the rider of Angel Of The Bay (GB), had originally entered the wrong stall.
Being satisfied that the stalls handler had put the gelding into the incorrect stall, before being quickly corrected, no further action was taken.
David Nolan, the rider of Operation Gimcrack (IRE), which finished tenth of sixteen runners, beaten by 4 ¾ lengths, had failed to ride out to the winning post having been denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Nolan’s explanation that he was caught on the heels of a weakening Alfie Boy (GB) and felt that manoeuvring right-handed in a tightly packed field would have resulted in interference, therefore he felt it prudent to stay on the heels of Alfie Boy (GB).
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Ratafia (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run on on several occasions inside the final 2 furlongs.
