Leaving the stalls, Firenze Rosa (IRE), placed third, jumped left-handed at the same time as Atty's Edge (GB), placed fifth, jumped right-handed, causing interference to the winner, Pettochside (GB), Valentino Sunrise (GB), placed fourth, Kodiak Attack (IRE), placed second, Dream Catching (IRE), placed sixth, and Perfect Charm (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong marker when Atty's Edge (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Angus Villiers, interfered with Major Pusey (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Thomas Greatrex.
Villiers was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left- handed without sufficient correction, resulting in Greatrex having to take a check against the rail.
Being a 7lb claimer, Villiers was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany him in the enquiry, but declined.
Following the race, William Carver reported that Dream Catching (IRE), placed sixth, was slowly away, Toby Eley reported that the winner, Pettochside (GB), was short of room shortly after leaving the stalls, Tyler Heard reported that More Than Likely (GB), placed seventh, was denied a clear run and Thomas Greatrex reported that Major Pusey (GB), placed eighth, was denied a clear run.
