K.J. Leonard, rider of Abundant Courage trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran keen
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Lunastar, trained by Paul W. Flynn, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Above Us Only Sky, ridden by C.T. Keane, Kendwar (FR), ridden by B.M. Coen, and Tiernaur General, ridden by C.P. Hoban, where it appeared Tiernaur General edged onto Above Us Only Sky who in turn edged onto Kendwar (FR). Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B.M. Coen gave his evidence in the presence of his master, Andrew Slattery, trainer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found C.P. Hoban to be in breach of Rule 214 through careless riding and having taken his clean recent record in this regard into account the Stewards suspended the rider for one race day.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 45-65 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
