Permission was given for Reverential (IRE) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries which was removed at the start.
The Stewards held an enquiry to establish the circumstances surrounding Countessa (FR) being left at the start.
They interviewed the Starters in the presence of the representative of Hugo Palmer.
Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the incident, the Stewards found that due to human error, the race had been started before Countessa (FR) had been loaded.
The Stewards retrospectively withdrew Countessa (FR) for betting purposes at 2:26pm and ordered a report to be forwarded to Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, Callum Shepherd reported that Rain Gauge (IRE), placed third, hung right under pressure and Harrison Shaw reported that Lockdown Lass (GB), unplaced, hung badly right handed.
Martin Harley reported that Golden Ridge (IRE), unplaced, moved poorly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
