Approaching 2 furlongs out, Wemyss Point (GB), placed fourth, hung quickly left taking Stockbridge Tap (GB), placed eighth, slightly off its intended line which caused the gelding to be tightened up against Mukha Magic (GB), placed second.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
James Sullivan, the rider of Riggsby (IRE), placed third, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Sullivan’s explanation was noted that the gelding had hung left approaching the line, onto the heels of the winner, Victoriano (IRE), causing him to ease slightly.
Following the race, Ryan Sexton reported that Lord Torranaga (FR), placed seventh, ran too free.
