An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 1½ furlongs out involving the winner, Chocolate Box (IRE), ridden by Philip Prince and Socially Shady (GB), placed second, ridden by Clifford Lee.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Chocolate Box (IRE)’s placing as the interference had occurred some distance from the line and Socially Shady (GB) had drawn upsides Chocolate Box (IRE) after the incident, before being held all the way to the line to be beaten a short head.
Prince was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift marginally left causing Socially Shady (GB) to be slightly checked.
