The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Kildorrery, trained by T.M. Walsh, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend past the stands involving Optical Confusion, ridden by D.P
Holden and One Down, ridden by J.S. McGarvey, where it appeared that Optical Confusion got tight for room when racing on the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D.P. Holden stated that his mount was running in and out and he was taken to a position inside of One Down but he did not feel that he was hampered at that point. J.S. McGarvey stated that there was no room on his inner for Optical Confusion and he was riding his own mount close to the hind quarters of She Tops The Lot which was racing on his outer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards did, however, advise J.S. McGarvey to ride with more awareness and furthermore advised both riders concerning the accuracy of their evidence

An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (130 = 11st 12lbs) Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won. Riders - Confined to Professional & Claiming Professional Riders who have not ridden more than 15 winners under any N.H. Rules from 2nd May, 2021 to 29th April, 2022 inclusive. (Qualified Riders are excluded from riding in this race)
