At the second last fence SMITH’S BAY, placed second, jumped right-handed giving a heavy bump to Captain Ivan (IRE), placed fifth, causing both runners to become unbalanced but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of SMITH’S BAY.
Shortly after jumping the last fence Tigerten (GB), placed fourth, lugged right-handed at the same time as the winner On Springs (IRE), edged left-handed resulting in the pair bumping lightly.
