Leaving the stalls Kim Wexler (IRE), placed second, swerved left-handed hampering Lihou (GB), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved nor had it improved the placing of Kim Wexler (IRE).
Approaching the half furlong marker Kim Wexler (IRE), placed second, shifted quickly right-handed away from the whip and gave a bump to the winner Angle Land (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when Lihou (GB), placed third, ridden by Jordan Williams interfered with Araifjan (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Tom Eaves.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Lihou (GB)’s placing as despite Araifjan (GB) being checked in its run, they were unable to be satisfied the incident had cost Eaves more than the 1 length margin, by which he had been beaten.
Williams was suspended for 3 days for careless riding after being adjudged to have allowed his mount to drift left-handed under a right-handed drive without correction, when not clear of Araifjan (GB), forcing Eaves to check his mount to avoid the heels of Lihou (GB).
Following the race, George Rooke reported that Bethersden Boy (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed and lost its action.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination Bethersden Boy (IRE), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
