Permission was given for Stone Of Destiny (GB) to wear a hood in the parade ring.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out when Ornate (GB), placed second, ridden by Phil Dennis, caused interference to Outrage (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Kieran O’Neill which in turn interfered with Tropics (USA), unplaced, ridden by Robert Winston.
Dennis was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had taken insufficient steps to prevent his mount drifting left onto Outrage (GB), which in turn caused Winston to have to check.
Following the race, Robert Winston reported that Tropics (USA) ran flat; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of the gelding, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
