The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Acquest, ridden by M.W Hassett, Fisherman's Beach, ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, and Navajo River, ridden by P.A. Harnett, where it appeared contact was made. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.W. Hassett stated that he was holding his line when receiving a bump. P.A. Harnett stated that there was a gap when he switched out and Fisherman's Beach was slightly coming in when they made contact. C. Stone Walsh stated that his mount is a green individual, but felt he didn't contribute to any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Luke Comer, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Navajo River, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Jim Gorman, Authorised Representative for the trainer reported that a combination of a step up in trip and a stong gallop on this occasion had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.
