The winner Intercessor (GB) appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Kempton on 7 July 2021, where the gelding finished eighth of eleven beaten 24 lengths.
John Gallagher explained that the gelding may have appreciated the step back in trip to 1 mile 2 furlongs on this occasion.
His explanation was noted.
