The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wicklow Flyer, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a small wound on her right hind pastern and furthermore had spread a left hind shoe

The Stewards interviewed G.B. Noonan, rider of Elite Des Mottes (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence G.B. Noonan accepted that he had breached the whip guidelines and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that G.B. Noonan was in breach of R10(3)(i) by failing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G.B. Noonan for two racedays.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards mares only (109 = 11st 12lbs) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 12lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
