After jumping the first fence, Green Or Black (IRE), unplaced, was badly hampered by the fall of Ferrobin (IRE).
The winner, Lord Condi (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Fontwell on 10 December 2019, where the gelding was pulled up.
Martin Keighley explained that Lord Condi (IRE) had been treated for stomach ulcers during a 217-day break and also benefitted from the first-time application of a visor on this occasion.
The gelding was routine tested.
