An enquiry was held into the start of this race to consider why the field were slow to start once the tape had been released.
All the riders apart from Richard Johnson, whose horse had whipped round at the start, were interviewed.
The riders all explained that they had been instructed to drop-in and get a lead.
Their explanations were noted and the riders reminded of their responsibilities to begin the race once the start had been effected.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DUSTY’S CHOICE (IRE), placed second, lost his left-fore shoe.
