Gentleman Valley (FR) unseated Luca Morgan at the start.
Having been examined by the doctor, the rider was deemed fit to race.
The performance of Robeam (IRE), which finished unplaced, beaten by 33¼ lengths was considered.
Michael Mullineaux’s explanation that the gelding had been unable to dominate, having been baulked at the start, was noted.
Passing the winning post with two circuits to run, Milanese Rose (IRE), placed sixth, clipped the heels of Robeam (IRE), unplaced, and stumbled, which in turn hampered Cabayo Lady (GB), which later unseated its rider, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Milanese Rose (IRE).
Chris Ward, the rider of Cabayo Lady (GB), was unseated on the approach to the second hurdle.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that no other horse or rider was involved and the incident had been caused by the mare becoming unbalanced when running very freely, causing her to slip before stumbling at the road crossing, which resulted in Ward being unseated.
It was noted that approaching the third hurdle, Hana Collonges (FR), unplaced, was hampered when both baulked and distracted by a riderless Cabayo Lady (GB) veering across the track.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the winning post on the penultimate circuit when Robeam (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Lewis Stones, interfered with Top Drawer (IRE), which was later pulled up, ridden by Conor Ring.
Stones was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, resulting in Top Drawer (IRE) losing its position when tightened for room against the rail.
Finn Lambert, the rider of Fine By Me (IRE), placed fourth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post to be beaten a short head for third place.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Lambert’s explanation that Fine By Me (IRE) had been staying on and hung left-handed in behind Balearic (IRE), placed second, causing him to become concerned about running onto the heels of that gelding in the final strides, was noted.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, Lambert was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Fine By Me (IRE), which started favourite and finished fourth, lost its left-fore shoe.
