An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference inside the final furlong involving Holly Bird (IRE), placed third, ridden by Ryan Mania and Gale Mahler (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Brian Hughes.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Holly Bird (IRE) as, although Gale Mahler (IRE) had been taken marginally off its intended line, and Hughes’ had had to take a momentary check, the momentum lost was less than the beaten margin of a Head.
The interference was found to be accidental as Gale Mahler (IRE) had ducked right-handed as they passed the entrance to the Parade Ring but was quickly corrected, taking Hughes’ slightly off his intended line.
