An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after potential interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Mehmo (IRE), ridden by Alec Voikhansky and Hit Mac (IRE), placed second, ridden by Billy Loughnane.
Being 7lb claiming apprentices both riders were accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA Jockey Coach.
After interviewing both riders and hearing their evidence, the Stewards found that from one furlong out there was no interference and that Mehmo’s placing had not improved as despite the gelding lugging right-handed and being corrected by Voikhansky both Mehmo (IRE) and Hit Mac (IRE) had both appeared to drift over to the stands side rail independently, with Mehmo (IRE) always holding Hit Mac (IRE) to be beaten a short head at the line.
Taking the above into consideration the Stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
Following the race, Liam Wright reported that Enchanted Night (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
