The winner, Caramay (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Leicester on 18 July 2024 where the filly finished sixth of eight runners, beaten 20 lengths.
It was noted that Chris Grassick could offer no explanation for the filly’s improved form.
Caramay (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of High Court Judge (USA), which started favourite and finished ninth of twelve runners, was considered.
It was noted that David Dennis could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Mhajim (IRE), placed third, ridden by Joey Haynes, Carey Street (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Gina Mangan and Busby (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Aiden Brookes.
Haynes was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed away from the whip without timely correction, which resulted in minimal interference to both Carey Street (IRE) and Busby (IRE).
Following the race, Gina Mangan reported that Carey Street (IRE), placed fifth, was restless in the stalls; Joey Haynes reported that Mhajim (IRE), placed third, was slowly away and lugged left-handed in the home straight; Rhys Clutterbuck reported that Cerulean Summer (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
