He's a small horse and his dam is a full sister to Earthmover. If the horse is sound and loose he'll go to Cork on Sunday. It's my first winner for his owner Thomas McNulty, from Ballinrobe. I met him when Missunited won her first race at Ballinrobe and he said he wanted a horse like her!. He's a very genuine man and spends half his year in Carolina with his kids and grandkids so this is mighty for him! Michael Winters, trainer
P.T. Enright, rider of Backinyourbox trained by Edward Cawley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly throughout. D.N. Russell, rider of Leave At Dawn trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made mistakes but ultimately disappointed. The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home on the first circuit involving Leave At Dawn, ridden by D.N. Russell, and Backinyourbox, ridden by P.T. Enright, where it appeared D.N. Russell received a whip from P.T. Enright having lost his whip earlier in the race. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.N. Russell was in breach of Rule 272 and having taken his record in this regard into account suspended him for five race days. They furthermore found P. T. Enright in breach of Rule 272 and suspended him for five race days and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee. A. Ring, rider of Noble Call, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a keen sort and he settled him off the pace as he is a doubtful stayer and he ran on in the straight.
