Leaving the stalls Rhubarb (GB), placed second, veered sharply right-handed badly crowding Mahale (GB), unplaced, onto the winner, WESTEREN MUSIC (IRE), which was hampered and in turn inconvenienced Gleaming Maize (GB), placed fifth, which resulted in Glorious Charmer (GB), placed third, being badly tightened for room.
At the same time, Charlemaine (IRE), unplaced, jumped left-handed bumping Frosted Angel (IRE), placed sixth, and as result of receiving pressure from either side Power Point (GB), unplaced, had to be severely checked and Admirable Lad (GB), placed fifth, was turned sideways after being heavily bumped, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
On the first bend, a free running Frosted Angel (IRE), placed sixth, lugged left-handed despite the rider’s best efforts, causing Admirable Lad (GB), placed fifth, to become unbalanced after being tightened for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, P J McDonald reported that GLORIOUS CHAMBER, placed third, suffered interference leaving the stalls; Josephine Gordon reported that Rhubarb (GB), placed second, jumped badly right-handed leaving the stalls and Callum Rodriguez reported that Power Point (GB), unplaced, was badly hampered at the start and hung right in the home straight and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
