The winner, Recon Mission (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 2 December 2020 where the colt finished last of eight, beaten by 9 ½ lengths.
Tony Carroll’s explanation that the colt benefitted from the drop in grade of Class 2 to Class 4 was noted.
Recon Mission (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, George Downing reported that Charming Kid (GB), placed fourth, ran too free.
