Laura Pearson, the rider of Kodiline (IRE), drawn 5, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in her horse being slow to start.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Pearson was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Pearson explained that the blind had become stuck in the bridle when she first attempted to remove it, at which point Kodiline (IRE) had then put his head down meaning she was slow to remove it on the second attempt.
Her explanation was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when Duke Of North (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Isobel Francis, interfered with Subliminal (GB), placed third, ridden by Thore Hammer Hansen.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Francis was accompanied in the enquiry by the trainer.
Francis was cautioned for careless riding for allowing her mount to drift left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Hansen, who was making an ambitious but legitimate run up the rail, to have to take a check and switch his mount off heels.
Inside the final furlong, Brains (IRE), placed fourth, shifted left-handed away from the whip causing it to make brief contact with Duke Of North (IRE), placed fifth.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Brains (IRE).
Following the race, Angus Villiers reported that Brains (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed under pressure, Laura Pearson reported that Kodiline (IRE), ran too free, and Isobel Francis reported that Duke Of North (IRE), placed fifth, ran too free and hung left-handed.
