Permission was given for Sepahi (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two instances of interference on the run to the line.
The first incident, involving Sepahi (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Grace McEntee and Latent Heat (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Rob Hornby, was found to be accidental as Sepahi (GB) lugged quickly left bumping heavily with Latent Heat (IRE), causing both horses to become unbalanced.
In the second incident shortly after, the placings were considered following interference involving French Twist (GB), placed second, ridden by Thomas Greatrex; Latent Heat (IRE) and Sepahi (GB).
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, McEntee was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, but declined.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved French Twist (GB)’s placing as the interference occurred close to the line, with insufficient ground being lost by both Latent Heat (IRE), which was beaten approximately 3/4 length, and Sepahi (GB), which was beaten approximately 1 1/4 lengths.
Greatrex was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right without timely correction, causing Latent Heat (IRE) to be crowded for room, which in turn hampered Sepahi (GB).
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Moveonup (IRE), placed eighth, ran too free.
Finley Marsh reported that Sharrabang (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Darragh Keenan reported that Bullington Boy (FR), unplaced, was denied a clear run between the 4 and 3 furlong markers behind a weakening Calima Calling (IRE), unplaced.
