An enquiry was held into the circumstances involving the malfunction of the flip start mechanism and reasons why the Starter had difficulty activating it.
The Clerk of the Course, the Managing Director, the Starters, the Starting Stalls team leader and Racecourse Inspector were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Having heard their evidence, the decision was for the remainder of this evenings races to be started by flag.
A report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
