The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Bothar Tara, ridden by D.P. Holden, and trained by S.G
Walsh. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.P. Holden, stated that his instructions were to jump off handy and give his mount plenty of light at her hurdles. He said his mount was slow away and he was further back early on then he would have liked and travelled wide before his mount gurgled several times in the home straight, which he reported to the Clerk of the Scales as required under the provisions of Rule 213. Walsh, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. Furthermore, he outlined the animals inexperience but stated that she was as fit as he could have her for her first run. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Bothar Tara was found to have a crack to the anterior hoof wall of its left fore, which has been filled, but to be otherwise post race normal
Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action other than to remind D. P. Holden of his obligations under Rule 212
D.P. Holden, rider of Bothar Tara trained by S.G.Walsh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount flipped its palate
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of One Horse Army trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was green throughout
At the request of the Stewards, Mr D. Allen, rider of Barefoot Man, trained by Terence O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a big horse with a long stride that did not travel well and struggled to lay up
He added that his mount was one paced from the turn in and may appreciate better ground.
