Permission was given for both Sergeant (FR) and Zodiac Star (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Kentucky Bluegrass (GB) to wear a red hood and be mounted in the chute.

Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
The winner Byzantine Empire (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 30 June 2024 where the gelding finished sixth of nine runners, beaten 24 ½ lengths.
Rhys Flint’s explanation that the gelding was suited by the quicker ground on this occasion, which was officially described as Good, was noted.

Following the race, Nathan Moscrop reported that he lost his irons on Right Now (IRE), unplaced, jumping the final hurdle and was unable to regain them through to the line.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Kentucky Bluegrass (GB), unplaced, lost its left-fore shoe.
