The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Ideal Pal, ridden by W. Joyce, placed second and Sasta, ridden by W.T. Byrne, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W. Joyce stated that he suffered very minor interference and it did not cost him. W. T. Byrne stated that his mount drifted left close to the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that no alteration to the judges placings was necessary and they took no further action
S.T. McCullagh, rider of Lord Park trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Church Mountain trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ducked right out of the stalls

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that W. Joyce was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered W. Joyce's record in this regard the Stewards suspended W. Joyce for four racedays
