Following a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. J.R. Banahan, under Rule 40, the Stewards enquired into the apparent failure of riders to obey the Starter's instructions on three occasions under Rule 208. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that I. McCarthy, Mr. S. Cavanagh, B. Hayes, C. Orr, K. O'Farrell, and D.J. McInerney had made genuine attempts to follow the Starter's orders and they therefore took no further action. The Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Mullins, P. Townend, D. O' Keefe, N.P. Madden, L. Dempsey, B.J. Cooper, R.A. Doyle, D. Meyler, S.A
Shortall, P.E. Corbett, A.W. Short and S. O' Keefe were in breach of Rule 208 in that they failed to obey the starter's instructions. Having considered their records in this regard, the Stewards cautioned the riders who were in breach on this occasion
