The Stewards interviewed S.E. Lewis, rider of Rock On Seamie, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S.E. Lewis was in breach of R10(3)(b) by using his whip unnecessarily when his horse's chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned S.E. Lewis on this occasion.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 88-116 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
