The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.A. Doyle, rider of Three Comets (GER), concerning his use of the whip in home straight on the first circuit of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that R.A. Doyle was in breach of R10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record (first offence under Regulation 10), they suspended him for 2 racedays
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Brendan Maurice Walsh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Knockbrack Rambler, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge stopped quickly on the tough underfoot conditions on its last run in Clonmel on the 15th of February and todays more favourable conditions may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Junot, trained by Michael Winters, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the last hurdle on the first circuit
T.P. Harney, rider of Golden Symphony, trained by Martin Paul Fitzgerald, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped shortly after the start and he pulled up
