Having been checked by the Veterinary Officer, the colt was deemed fit to race.
Approximately 6 ½ furlongs out, the free-running Chartwell House (IRE), placed third, drifted slightly left-handed bumping Rossmore Nation (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Chartwell House (IRE).
The performance of Giant (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Richard Spencer could offer no explanation for the colt’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Giant (GB), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Bird Of Play (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
