P. Townend, rider of Allibaba (GB) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Allibaba (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Captains Nephew, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, and trained by P.J. Rothwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. J.P. O'Sullivan, stated that his instructions were to drop out as it can be a difficult ride, to get him relaxed and jumping and to do the best he could. He said his mount took a while to settle, raced wide at the bends and stayed one one paced in the home straight. He further added that his mount met with interference at the last which slowed his momentum. P.J
Rothwell, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He further added that his charge would benefit from a step up in trip. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that the animal was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations offered.
