Permission was given for Brazen Belle (GB) to go early to post.
Entering the first bend, Jonathans Princess (GB), unplaced, which was racing freely and hanging violently right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts, took Bernard Spierpoint (GB) and Brazen Arrow (GB), both unplaced, off their intended lines, with Bernard Spierpoint (GB) having to be checked by its rider.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Irish Times (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Hayley Turner; Sir Gregory (FR), placed seventh, ridden by Angus Villiers; and the winner, La Roca Del Fuego (IRE), ridden by Tyler Heard.
Heard was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift sharply left-handed when not sufficiently clear, taking Irish Times (GB) off its intended line causing it to tighten Sir Gregory (FR) up against the rail.
A further enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Jonathans Princess (GB), unplaced, ridden by Kieran O’Neill; Bernard Spierpoint (GB), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris; and Brazen Belle (GB), placed third, ridden by Sean Kirrane.
Kirrane was suspended for 3 days for careless riding for steering his mount left-handed when not sufficiently clear, causing Morris to have to check his mount off heels and causing it to make contact with Jonathans Princess (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Aces (IRE), placed sixth, had lost its right-fore shoe.
